We are Everywhere!

Happy Holidays and many wishes for a fantastic 2008 from Loopt!

The office is feeling a bit lonely these days, but if you look on the map, we certainly are out and about!

Ricky is 1709.4 miles away from Loopt, Mountain View, and out and about town in St. Louis.
Brian was taking a Bikram yoga class in upstate New York, and later flew out to Wisconsin, to Sheb..what? to endure more winter temperatures. Yikes! Brian must be missing Cali.
Will, on the other hand, is having a grand time in West Palm Beach, Florida. From his status messages, yup, he's defffinitely partying it up!
Evan just flew out to Chi-town, to watch some mean games of ping pong!
And Shari went from warm and wonderful Miami to Albuquerque. Noting from her status message, she puts the 'h' in hard core!

Back in the Bay Area, Nini's finding the perfect paint color for her new apartment in SF, and hunting down a delicious cake from one of Loopt's favorite bakeries, the Prolific Oven (happy birthday, Aroon!):

All in all, a very happy holiday season. Can't wait for 2008!

Ping Pong Anyone?

Sometimes all you want to do is just let someone know where you are. No long-winded (or short-winded) message, just a one-click, “Here’s where I am. Where are you?”

That’s why we’ve added the Ping feature. It’s exactly as it sounds. If you want to let a friend know where you are and to ask her where she is, ping her with a single click. We’ll send her a text message with your location and ask for hers. Letting a friend know you’re at 42nd and Broadway has never been easier.

 

Here’s the best part. If your friend uses Loopt, we provide a link in the text message that launches the application so she can see your location on the map. It also automatically updates her location and sends you, you guessed it, a Pong! If your friend isn’t on Loopt yet, no problem. She can still see your location via her mobile web browser and pong you back manually.

OK, now Ping Pong away! (Here's a bonus: it's said Ping Pong even increases one's mental faculties.)
